Any ideas on Coach’s gifts for youth soccer?

I’m the team mom for the first time ever. I’ve just collected the money from the parents for the end of season party, trophies, and the coaches gift. I was thinking of ordering a plaque with the team photo on it. But don’t know what to put in the inscription. Also, I would like some other ideas. I want to do something different, not the same old plaque. Please help! Thank you

As a coach myself, there are a few things I think I would appreciate. One would be a gift card to a sports store. If he or she is married, perhaps a restaurant gift card for them both, recognizing the sacrifice the spouse made as well. The autographed short or ball is a nice idea too. A camping chair doesn’t make much sense to me, since most coaches I know spend their entire time standing up, especially on youth teams. Tickets to a local game maybe, if you have a college or pro team in your area. A windcheater, perhaps embroidered (“Coach X”?). How about a contribution to his/her kid’s registration fees for next season (assuming the coach has a kid on the team, which is pretty common)? Of course, all this depends on how much you collected per player!
