Would this make a good white elephant gift?

It is an old Smithsonian solar system set that you paint the planets and hook them up on rods and they rotate around the sun. It also has a constellation dome thing that maps the star on your ceiling.
I got it as a Christmas or birthday gift like ten years ago when I must have been eight or nine. It has never been opened until a couple a days ago when I found it in a closet and thought that I would check it out in side so everything should be good as new. It is meant for kids probably around eight to ten (why I got it at that age.)
So is this something that you would try to get or would you go for a unopened one to see what you get? This is not a high budget white elephant gift exchange, it is with mostly high school students and a few college kids so nothing too expensive that might be gotten.

A white elephant gift is something that you do not want to have in the house, and is not abused or damaged in any way.

many people tend to get new store bought things for white elephant gifts, but that is not the intent or spirit of the exchange. It is mostly for fun, to see what people consider as “junk”, and may be a treasure to others.

Usually this is followed by a person-to-person exchange where trades are done after the formal gift openings.
