Gift giving and ex husband?

I’m a divorced mom of a 6 and 8 yr old. My ex is re-married and his wife takes my kids shopping for their dad(fathers day/x-mas). I also take them shopping for thier dad,nothing big things like picture frames that say I love my dad or golf mugs ect. My question is would you still take your kids shopping for their dad if you know his wife is doing it too? In the 5 yrs i have been doing this my ex never once took the girls shopping to get me anything(not that i care) but I’m just wondering if what i’m doing is the right thing?

Kids that are 6 and 8 are old enough to pick something out for their dad. My husband and I do the same thing for my step-daughter and her mom is a total jerk to us. We even buy birthday and Christmas gifts for her two other kids from her second marriage. It’s important to not let the kids get caught in the middle of petty stuff. Do what you think is in the best interest of your kids and don’t worry if they don’t reciprocate.
