Can i give my Jewish boyfriend a Hanukkah gift if im not in his family and im not Jewish?!?
So we’ve been dating for 7 months. : ) Hes Jewish, Im not. I want to give him something. like a Dreidel or something. Can i?
would that be weird?
Also, if i could, what day would i give it on?
Thanks!
Treat Chanukah as you would expect him to treat Christmas.
You’re probably thinking he will give you a Christmas gift. You’re not expecting an ornament or a something specifically related to Christmas, right? You’d just like a nice personal gift from him.
So on the first night of Chanukah (Friday Dec 11), have a gift for him that you think he’d like. If you want him to feel really special, be sure to wrap it in a Chanukah gift bag or wrapping paper. Skip the dreidel and gelt!
If you’ve been dating for seven months, it may be a good idea for you and he to talk a little about religion and what both of you expect. Eventually it won’t be as awkward.
