Going to a friends home for Thanksgiving. Is this an appropriate gift to present the hostess?

So, I want to give her something, a hostess gift I guess it’s called. I’m short on cash but recieved a gift set I never opened on my birthday from a different friend. (Hostess and gift giving friend dont know each other) It is a very pricey sex lube gift set by the brand, Wet. It retails on eBay for $37.00. Is this gift too much for thanking her for inviting me to her holiday gathering? I don’t want the other guests to feel ackward when I present such a lavish gift, and they only give a candle or bottle of soda.
